RMIT’s Asia Hub and non/fictionLab invite you to a book launch to celebrate Jaydeep Sarangi’s collection Notes on the Rock of Job Charnock. Jaydeep will read from his new work alongside guest poet Lesh Karan and writers from the non/fictionLab.

Bio:

Dubbed 'Bard on the Banks of Dulung' Jaydeep Sarangi is an Indian poet with eleven poetry collections in English and scholar of marginal studies, postcolonial studies and Indian Writing with forty three books anchored in Kolkata/Jhargram. With Rob Harle he has edited six anthologies of poems from Australia and India which are a wealthy literary link between the nations. With Amelia Walker, he has guest edited a special issue for TEXT, Australia. His recently published books include, Mapping the Mind , Minding The Map:Twenty Contemporary Indian English Poets , Sahitya Akademi, 2023 and A Life Uprooted: A Bengali Dalit Refugee Remembers, Sahitya Akademi, 2024. At present, he is working for two book projects with Professor Carole Rozzonelli, France financially  sponsored  through the Université Lumière Lyon, France.   Sarangi is currently the President of the Guild of Indian English Writers, Editors and Critics (GIEWEC) and Vice President, EC, Intercultural Poetry and Performance Library, Kolkata. He is Principal of New Alipore College, Kolkata.
