Kids' Coastal Cultural Discovery Day in Yanchep - School Holiday Event
Event description
Join Perth NRM and the City of Wanneroo for a memorable day with Olman Walley, a proud Wilman, Balardong, Binjareb, and Wadjuk Noongar man. Discover Noongar culture and history on a walking tour of Yanchep Beach, hear Dreamtime stories, and learn about traditional uses of plants and animals. After a short break, handle traditional tools and artifacts, and get moving in a song and movement session!
Date: Tuesday, 24th September 2024
Location: Mary Lindsay Homestead, Capricorn Esplanade, Yanchep WA
Time: 11:00am to 1:30pm (Please arrive by 10:45am to register)
Recommended Age: 7+
Cost: $7.50 per child. Accompanying adults free.
Please bring: Comfortable and enclosed shoes suitable for walking, hat, sunscreen, raincoats if raining, water bottle and reusable cups. Light refreshments will be provided! Please advise dietary requirements at checkout.

- This walking tour includes stairs and beach-walking.
- Toilets and drinking fountains can be accessed on site.
- Plenty of parking available near the homestead.
- Parents/guardians must stay with children 16yo and younger. Adults are encouraged to participate in the activities.
- Cancellations and refunds: This event will only be cancelled if extreme weather conditions are forecast. If you can not attend, please inform us as soon as possible! Tickets are limited and we want to make sure as many people as possible can join us. Refunds will only be offered when tickets are cancelled 3 days prior to the event.
