What leadership is needed for progress in Alice Springs?
Description
This is a rare opportunity for our town.
Ed O’Malley — a global leader in adaptive leadership and former President of the Kansas Leadership Center — will be in Alice Springs for a short, invited visit. His work focuses on how communities make progress on tough, real-world challenges where authority alone is not enough. He works with leaders and communities around the world, and this is a rare chance to engage directly with him here. Not just to hear from him, but to work with him in a session grounded in our context.
This free event sits within the Foundation’s #GGSD (Getting Good Stuff Done) work focussed on encouraging, supporting and amplifying people who step in, draw others together, and build a stronger community and shared future. It builds on last year’s conversations to recognise and strengthen the community leadership that makes progress possible.
This is a constructive community session. It’s for people who step in and contribute to progress — and for those who want to do more of that. It will bring together a cross-section of the community to explore how momentum for change is created, and how each of us can extend our own impact.
The conversation will centre on a simple but serious question:
What leadership is needed for progress in our town?
The evening will include short local responses, followed by structured table discussions to enable deeper dialogue, whole-room work, and informal networking.
We encourage you to attend as a member of the community — and to invite other positive community builders.
