CDoc (Castlemaine Documentary Film Festival - June 26-28) is going on holiday to tropical Far North Queensland, and we are taking Pete Muller’s film, Bucks Harbor with us for a special one-off screening at the Majestic Theatre in Malanda on Saturday, September 5th. The screening is generously supported by Arts Queensland and Tablelands Regional Council* and presented in collaboration with Yungaburra Men's Shed - 50% of ticket sales donated to Yungaburra Mens Shed.

The fishing village of Bucks Harbor in northeast Maine is a rugged, wild place. Perched on the Atlantic coast and governed by the seasons, its rich hunting and lobster-catching territory. Survival depends on the predominantly masculine traditions passed down almost exclusively– father to son. For his debut feature documentary, American photographer Pete Muller weaves a surprisingly delicate tapestry of this rugged place, focusing on the experiences of a handful of fishermen to reveal undercurrents of humanity, humility, humour and connection between generations. Bucks Harbor is the winner of this year's Berlinale Jury Prize and the Margaret Mead Film Festival Audience Award. Its second Australian screening takes place at the Majestic on Saturday, September 5th. This is a one-off screening during the film's international premiere - don't miss out!
