New to Alice Springs? Still finding your feet?

Come to Dinner is a relaxed, family-friendly evening for people who are new or newly settled in Alice Springs and Central Australia.

It’s built around a simple idea: community starts when people come together.

If you’ve arrived for work, FIFO, a short-term contract, or you’ve been here a while but haven’t quite found your people yet, this is an easy and welcoming way for you and your partner/ family to connect. There’s no pressure and no awkward networking, just good food, real conversation, and a shared table.

Over dinner, you’ll meet others at a similar new stage of settling in, learn what’s happening locally, and gain practical insight into life in Alice Springs and Central Australia, all in a friendly, inclusive setting.

 Come to Dinner is part of the Mparntwe Alice Springs Community Foundation’s #GettingGoodStuffDone community initiatives, supporting people to lead ideas that strengthen connection and help build a shared future for our town.

Run by a group of volunteers through the Foundation, we look forward to welcoming you, whether you’re new to town, an employer supporting new staff, or locals helping to share about our community.

• What: Come to Dinner is a welcoming community event for people new or newly settled in Alice Springs and Central Australia to meet others, share information about the town, and build connections.

• When: 27 February 2026, 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm Golf Club Cromwell Dr, Desert Springs NT 0870

• Cost: $35 per adult | $15 per child

• Dietary considerations: The buffet includes roast meats, seasonal vegetables, salads, and a selection of vegan dishes. Dietary requirements can be noted when booking.
