Optimism and ethical challenges for recovering mobility after severe stroke and brain injury

To mark Brain Injury Awareness Week 2026, this free public lecture is brought to you by the SA Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service of Central Adelaide Local Health Network, Flinders University and Adelaide University.

Recovery of skills such as standing and walking is often rated as the highest priority by people who survive severe stroke or brain injury. Understanding what recovery can look like is crucial for survivors, families, health professionals and health executive. Dr Simon Mills will share emerging findings from new research in South Australia, funded by Lifetime Support Authority.
