Event description

In 2023 the Tewantin-Noosa Branch of the QCWA have an audacious goal - to help support local women who are vulnerable and need support to find housing and feel safe. We are halfway to our goal of raising $100,000 and this year, our iconic Street Stalls, Cent Sale and many other events will be dedicated to supporting our Housing project.

In May 2023, to coincide with the annual "Menstrual May" campaign we have invited charity founder Rochelle Courtenay to be our guest speaker, to share her journey from one woman with an idea to help, to a national charity with over 6,000 volunteers.

An Australian of the Year finalist, Rochelle is an award-winning women’s equity advocate, founding Share the Dignity in 2015 after learning of the menstrual health and hygiene challenges of women and girls experiencing homelessness. From a few packs of pads collected by locals in her community to a thriving national operation which has collected millions of products with the help of 6,000+ volunteers supporting 3,000 charities, Rochelle has achieved what many considered impossible through her dedication, passion, and commitment to sharing the dignity with those who need it most.

On Thursday 4th May, we invite you to come along and attend our lunch, which while raising money via our raffle for local women's housing, will also support Share the Dignity through the collection of "Dignity" products. Please see the items below and bring along as many as you like to the lunch for collection. You can read more about the Dignity Drive at: https://www.sharethedignity.or...

We accept donations of brand new sanitary and period products including pads, tampons, maternity pads, incontinence pads, reusable pads, period-proof underwear and menstrual cups. We collect this variety of period products, so everyone in need receives their preferred period product. All donations must be brand new, still sealed in their original packaging and must comply with Australian quality standards.
