First Nations Leadership & Philanthropic Partnership: What 12 Years of Working Together Can Teach Us

Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre - Plaza P1 room

Description

This session explores how philanthropy can play a more useful role by backing First Nations leadership and strengthening community-led solutions.

At its centre is a real, 12-year partnership between philanthropy and First Nations leaders, showing what's possible when relationships and trust sit at the core of the work. That partnership has helped drive progress on rheumatic heart disease (RHD), a preventable condition that still disproportionately affects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

This session is for funders, policymakers, community partners and anyone interested in practical models of First Nations-led collaboration and long-term impact.
