Event description

St John of God Richmond Hospital has a 70 year history of serving the community in North Richmond and providing high quality mental health care for people across NSW and Australia. Subject to planning approval, funding from St John of God Health Care will enable construction of new accommodation pavilions, a wellness centre and refurbishment of various existing buildings on the current site.

The new facility will deliver high quality health services in a modern setting which maximises its surroundings to the benefit of all clients and staff. Historic Belmont House will be preserved and plays an integral role in the new campus. Belmont House is significant to our history and a treasured part of the local community and our organisation. The redevelopment will restore the prominence of this building on the site so that it will continue to live on for future generations to enjoy.

The redevelopment of the Richmond Hospital campus is about delivering contemporary mental health care that builds connection, improves lives and transforms the way care is provided. The events of the past year or so, really highlight the need for more accessible and responsive mental health services across our communities. This plan will allow us to better meet those needs by providing care that is truly person centred.

We are holding a community forum onsite at the hospital on Wednesday 21 April 2021 at 6pm to view plans and design concepts and to provide further information.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, numbers are limited and registration is essential.
