The Art of Collage with Sydney artist, Michelle Cawthorn
Event description
This one-day workshop with Sydney artist Michelle Cawthorn will introduce students to the creative potential of collage and its ability to generate poetic, abstract, provocative, ironic and surreal imagery.
Beginning with a 30-minute talk about collage and its role in modern and contemporary artmaking, students will explore their own creative responses to found imagery and be guided through ways to consider a topic or theme in their work. Michelle will demonstrate techniques for building complex collage compositions and discuss ways to extend collage works through the addition of drawing and painting.
Participants are asked to bring 2 magazines with them to share with others on the day.
All other materials and a light lunch is provided.
