Event description

The Climate Action Conference is back and better and bigger than ever! 🌏

Mark your calendars for the 27th and 28th of July. Our 2024 theme is Rise: Rising Temperatures, Rising Youth 🚀

🚨 Register ASAP because we only have a limited amount of tickets available 🚨

The temperature is rising — but so are we. The Youth Climate Collective is excited to announce our second Climate Action Conference, with incredible speakers, panellists and climate action workshops planned for this year, and we can’t wait to get stuck in! Come hear from amazing speakers such as:

Nate Wilbourne - Founder of Gen Z Aotearoa
Izzy Fenwick - Founder of Futureful, New Zealand’s first values-led and skills-based recruitment platform
Dan Hikuroa
- Culture Commissioner for the New Zealand National Commission for UNESCO

and more TBA!

We’ll be back on the University of Auckland Campus, but this time, we’ve relocated to the brand new Faculty of Arts Building. The building is one of the first to ever receive a 6 Green Star Rating by Te Kaunihera Hanganga Tautaiao | New Zealand Green Building Council and is an incredible (and apt) space to hold our second climate conference. The nine-storey building includes a soaring glass atrium, capped by a vaulted timber roof and solar photovoltaic panels, built as a commitment to sustainability within Aotearoa.

Our conference will give you the resources, skills, and mentorship to create your own climate action projects 🛠 — and, we’ve got funding to support those ideas post-event! 💰 At The Climate Action Conference 2024, we’ll set out how you can go about accessing funding, mentoring and resources from us to set up your own initiatives.

So bring your friends, whānau, neighbours, colleagues and anyone else who'd like to attend for a jam packed two-day action event! Here's more detail about the conference:

Why: You’re busy juggling work or university or school or clubs, and a dozen other commitments, so why attend? Because it’s more than just one weekend! It’s a chance to meet environmental industry professionals, to connect with other young people, and, to make your sustainability ideas come to life ✨ PLUS THERE'S FOOD INCLUDED

Who: Although we have a youth focus, we know the importance of inter-generational collaboration in ideating solutions to the climate crisis, so our event is open for anyone to attend!

When: 9am - 4pm on 27th & 28th July

Where: The University of Auckland's 6 Green Star Building - 10 Symonds Street
