The Climate Crisis at Home: What Council and Communities are Doing
Event description
The challenge of climate change is evident locally, regionally, nationally and globally. It affects food production, energy generation and use, planning decisions and many other aspects of community life. It is now one of the most important policy points of all decision-making boards, committees and governments at all levels.
Do you know what the impacts of climate change are in the Greater Geelong region? Have you heard about the many initiatives being implemented by individuals, groups and government? Maybe you have questions and ideas to contribute to the discussion.
Women in Local Democracy (WILD Geelong), with the support of the City of Greater Geelong, are proud to present this topic at our next Meet the Women Leaders Forum, with:
· The Geelong Climate Choir
· MC Loretta Hart from Pulse Radio
· Keynote speaker Andrea Pape from Sustainability Victoria
· TWO panels comprising informed women leaders and activists who will tell us about climate change challenges and key initiatives being implemented across our region.
The panelists include First Nations woman Marsha Uppill, Dr Sarah Mansfield MLC, Surf Coast Mayor Liz Pattison, City of Greater Geelong Councillor Elise Wilkinson, Fiona Conroy, Emilie Flynn, Laura Grufus, Kate Lockhart, Vicki Perrett, Jenna Wade, and Kitty Walker
Come along. Join the discussion. Save Our Planet.                                       Â
