Doors open 7pm for 7.30pm start.

Wordcraft are excited to announce... this month we have a new venue!

After a gorgeous season at the Fitzroy Art Collective, we have officially grown and will now be hosted at the VIC Pride Centre Theatrette in St Kilda!

We know it's across the river, but it's bigger, more accessible and is absolutely lush! We cannot wait to host our event there and thanks to Rowland at Hares and Hyenas for the support.

At Wordcraft, we celebrate our stories raw and in process. Storytellers of all walks of life show up on our stage to share their writing, their poetry, journals, love letters and more.

We believe that spoken word is the most accessible artform, it doesn't discriminate against any marginalised label our world has stuck on you. You can show up and share your truth as raw and real as you are, and we will only applaud you all the way to the stage and beyond.

WE HAVE 10 SPOTS ON THE OPEN MIC. REGISTER IN TICKET OPTIONS AND ON THE DOOR.

This month we are featuring a community newbie: Nick Jenkins. (I saw him at Slama and can't frikin wait!)

Nick, a young poet from bayside Melbourne, with less than a year’s experience in his new found love for poetry. He aims to compel listener through his thought provoking words, aiming to get a smile or tear from those who listen.

Come for the community, stay for the poetry xx

Hosted by Australian Poetry Slam Champion and Wordcraft Mamma, Wren Rapture (Ren Alessandra 2.0)

    Housekeeping and Accessibility notes:

Our new venue has a bar. We also have a strict no dickhead policy, so just like, don't be one. We have no qualms asking you to leave.

This space is a performance space and there is loud applause, performance and music. Please consider your needs and if this space is right for you on the night. We endeavour to make the space as accessible as possible, given the nature of the event, however there are only so many changes that can be made.

ACCESSIBILITY: Please note, the venue and toilets are fully accessible. There is a ramp for the stage which will be available and ready to use on the night for anyone needing it to access the stage. There is dimmer lighting in the space during performance times and double doors to enter and exit the theatre. At this time, we are unable to provide live closed captioning however it is on our timeline.
