    One day of intensive Ayurvedic Massage training.

    No prior background needed. The only prerequisite is an open heart, a willingness to learn, the desire to grow, heal and have fun!

    Learn how to do Ayurvedic Massage in daily life either as a professional massage therapist or for personal use.

    What is Ayurvedic Massage?

    An Ayurvedic massage is a unique and holistic therapy that goes beyond simply relieving muscle tension. Performed using warm oil, it nourishes the entire body and mind, promoting overall well-being. This ancient practice is believed to benefit the blood, bones, and muscles, while also calming the mind and soothing the senses. By incorporating Ayurvedic massage into your self-care routine, you can experience a sense of balance and harmony that extends far beyond the massage table.

    Program Content:

    • Basic Principles of Ayurveda - gain a deeper understanding of yourself as you learn about the ancient Ayurvedic Medicine and learn to apply these traditions to your everyday life.
    • Importance of oiling the body and how to do that properly using specially hands, thumbs and fingers to treat body, mind and emotional disorders.
    • Identifying the best oils to use.
    • Introduction to Marma Points – how to locate marma points on the body and work with them in order to release stagnant energy and stimulate internal organs, hormones and other chemicals to help meet the needs of your body.
    • Understanding Reflexology – how to locate marma points specifically on the feet.
    • Corporal Conscience – how to provide an unique experience making clients become more conscious about their own body.
    • How to move toxins out of the body during massage.
    • Adjusting pressure and speed to the patient’s body type.
    • Self-massage – how to release tensions while and after doing the massage.
    • Draping Essentials and Precautions during massage, according to M&MA (Massage & Myotherapy Australia).
    • How to prepare a blissful and healing environment and how to approach the patients identifying the main needs of their body.
    • Benefits and contraindications of Ayurvedic Massage.

    Workshop Facilitators:

    Juliana Yara – Studied Ayurvedic Therapies for two years at the School of Ayurveda in Brazil and specialized at Gujarat Ayurved University, India. Currently works at Buddha Bar Clinic, Newtown and provides services for Luxit and also at retreats and client’s home.

    Mercedes Carrillo - Remedial massage therapist, Clinical hypnotherapist, Reiki master and Wholistic counsellor.
    Specialising in women’s health. Successfully practises from both Mortdale Allied health and a Penshurst home clinic, empowering women by living their best lives. Mercedes is well connected with a network of allied health professionals to support client healthy outcomes.
