10 Steps to Resilience and Empowerment in a Chaotic Climate - peer support for living in polycrisis
Event description
Do you feel anxious about climate change, grief for species extinction, despair or anger at the inequalities of our society? Do systemic issues of society sometimes keep you awake at night? Do you feel overwhelmed by the news? Are you exhausted by the amount of work to be done, or are you unsure where to even begin?Â
YOU ARE NOT ALONE!Â
Join with others who feel the same way, and work to move through the heavy feelings and deconstruct cultural narratives in this heart-centered program by the Good Grief Network. Connect with others, share feelings and experiences, explore resources, and learn, heal and grow together, so we can build our collective resilience and empower ourselves to continue to find new ways of being in these times.
This affiliate 10 Step Good Grief program will be run by Good Grief Network trained FLOW facilitator Liz Wade, and friends, in connection with the Degrowth Network Australia.
10 Steps to Resilience and Empowerment in a Chaotic Climate
An affiliate Good Grief Network peer support program, for eco-distress and other heavy emotions of our times.
Group size:Â 15 people, including 2 facilitators.
Location: Panayota Miller room at Carlton Neighbourhood Learning Centre
Fortnightly sessions:Â First session Saturday 3 August 2024, 11am-2pm with break, then continuing fortnightly from 17 August 11am-1pm, until 7 December. Shared lunch after the session.Â
Contribution requested:Â Your commitment to attending so that the spaces in the group are full.
Voluntary additional contributions: Anything you have to freely give or share with the group is welcomed, some snacks or lunch to share, a poem, a song, your wisdom, your appreciation, your truth, your art, your experience, your skills, your craft, your care... If you would like to give some money that stuff is still useful and sometimes necessary. Suggested optional financial contribution range: anywhere from $1 - $100/session welcome, to help cover costs for me to continue running the program. This is entirely optional and by willingness and capacity - your presence and participation is more important.Â
Additional money received will allow the possibility of additional afternoon sessions, future groups, or will be added to the Degrowth Network pool for covering costs for Network projects.
