Wed, 2 Dec, 12pm - 5:30pm AEDT

Description

We are celebrating 10 Years of climate emergency action at the local government level.

On Wednesday 2 December we will gather in person in Melbourne, generously hosted by Melbourne Polytechnic, and tune in online in watch parties around the country, at work, or at home, for this national conversation.

We will be reflecting on the past 10 years of achievement and learning, and looking ahead to the future. We’ll talk about where we are at, what’s changed and what comes next for councils responding to the climate emergency.

If you are looking for online tickets (and you should be, even if you are coming in person!), go to the ONLINE EVENT.

Find out more about the whole shebang.

Venue

The Collingwood campus of Melbourne Polytechnic is Australia’s first all-electric TAFE campus and Melbourne Polytechnic is embedding sustainability across its sites and programs. It’s located in a bustling, creative precinct which includes the Collingwood Yards just across the way. Have a look around campus and check out transport and access.

The campus is universally accessible, including parking, lifts and entrances (and please let us know if you have specific access needs when you register, including Auslan interpreters, hearing loop etc).

Tickets

You'll notice there are several different types of tickets available. There is a small number of tickets available to be part of the live audience in the broadcast hub (theatre tickets), and there will also be plenty of tickets for multiple overflow spaces where you can gather with colleagues to watch and discuss the proceedings in a comfortable and relaxed setting. All attendees will have access to the networking and refreshments zone, adjacent to overflow areas and just a floor away from the broadcast hub. There are also special rates for members of CEA. Find out how to become a member of CEA. If your council is a member and you haven't received an access code, contact us.

Refreshments
There is a large kitchen/dining area on the ground floor of the campus where people can gather to eat lunch together and catch up during the registration and networking period (11:45am-12:45pm). To keep costs low, we are not providing lunch as standard. You have several options:

  • BYO lunch from home (there are microwaves in the kitchen)

  • BYO take-away lunch from one of the many cafes, bakeries and restaurants in the area

  • Pick up a pre-ordered lunch-box provided by Moondani, one of Melbourne Polytechnic’s in-house hospitality training centres and café (for an additional cost).

Afternoon tea will be provided and with additional barista-quality coffee options available on-site. Canapes and soft drinks will be also be provided after formal proceedings, with alcoholic drinks available for purchase. Attendees can then move on to dinner and/or drinks at one of the many eateries, bars and pubs in the area.

Donations

You will notice when you book that you have the option to add on a donation to one or more of three organisations:

Donations are completely optional and you can give us as much or as little as you like to one or more organisations. No worries if you are not able to!
