Event description

The Mandala of the One Hundred Peaceful and Wrathful Deities Ceremony is a profound practice that helps and enables sentient beings to attain purification, liberation and a good rebirth in the upper or Pure Realms.

Shitro or Zhitro (Standard Tibetan: ཞི་ཁྲོ) is a rare teaching from the Treasure Cycle of Karma Lingpa and traditionally believed to have been written by Padmasambhava.

It is said that one is able to attain liberation and a good rebirth “just by listening to the precious teachings and mantras of the Hundred Deities” which carries great and immense blessings or seeing the mandala and picture of the hundred deities.

For Buddhist practitioners, Shitro helps transform impure energy and increases the long life of one's teacher since it removes obstacles from damaged samaya in the sangha and purifies defilements that cause obstacles to enlightenment - (Lama Tharchin Rinpoche).

The 3 days long practice is led by His Eminence Ven. Dukung Gyaltsen Tulku Rinpoche and monastic sangha from the Himalayan regions.

Rinpoche is a highly revered senior teacher of the Karma Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism and a well-versed scholar who teaches from all Tibetan Buddhist traditions and embodies the non-sectarian spirit of (Ri-me).

This is the 7th time that Rinpoche-La has kindly agreed to teach this precious practice. This 3 days puja program will include prostrations, chanting, meditation sessions and lots more.

Participants will also have a wonderful opportunity to:

  • View a Sacred Mandala

  • Make Lamp, Flower and Prayer Offerings on behalf of a loved one.

Texts and meditation cushions will be provided for all participants. Please wear comfortable and modest clothing as some sessions may involve meditation or prostrations (optional). If you are doing prostration, we recommend that you bring along a yoga mat or a large towel
