Green Tara Tsok Puja (3-Day Retreat) and Empowerment.
A Green Tara Tsok Puja is a sacred Tibetan Buddhist feast offering (tsok or ganachakra) dedicated to Green Tara, the female Buddha who embodies swift compassion, protection, and enlightened activity.
Lama Zopa Rinpoche explains:
"Green Tara is especially swift in granting the wishes of sentient beings. Tara is also known as the 'Mother of all Buddhas' because she embodies wisdom—all Buddhas are born from this wisdom."
This profound practice is performed to accumulate merit and wisdom, purify negative karma and obscurations, remove obstacles, and strengthen one's connection with Green Tara and the unbroken lineage of practitioners.
Throughout the ceremony, participants engage in prayer, meditation, and the recitation of Green Tara's mantra:
Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha
As part of the tsok practice, consecrated food and drink are blessed and offered. These offerings symbolize generosity, the transformation of ordinary perception into pure awareness, and the cultivation of compassion and wisdom. Following the offering ceremony, the blessed food is respectfully shared among all participants as a sacred feast, strengthening spiritual community and the aspiration to benefit all sentient beings.
Green Tara Tsok Pujas are traditionally performed to:
Remove obstacles and negative conditions
Promote healing, longevity, and well-being
Cultivate compassion, wisdom, and inner peace
Create favorable conditions for both Dharma practice and everyday life
Generate merit for oneself and all sentient beings
Program Highlights
This special three-day retreat will be led by Venerable Dukung Gyaltsen Rinpoche, accompanied by the monastic Sangha.
Rinpoche-la is a highly respected senior teacher of the Karma Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, renowned for his compassionate guidance and profound realization.
Over the three days, participants will engage in:
Green Tara Tsok Puja
Traditional chanting and prayers
Guided meditation sessions
Mantra recitation
Dharma teachings and blessings
Veneration of Buddha relics
Offering of light or flowers to the Triple Gems
Green Tara Empowerment on the final day.
Texts and meditation cushions will be provided for all participants. Please wear comfortable and modest clothing.
This retreat is suitable for both experienced practitioners and those wishing to deepen their connection with Green Tara's compassionate and enlightened activity. Everyone is warmly welcome.

FAQs
- Parking and Entry to Venue
Free parking is available for members and their guests at the venue. Entry is via Newmans Road or Oxford Street, Merrylands.
Entry to the venue will require a valid NSW photo ID, for international guests, please present your passport at the entrance for admission into the venue.
- What NOT to bring into the venue ?
To comply with the venue's guidelines and requirements, we ask participants to NOT bring any food or drink inside the venue.
Refreshments and meals are readily available on site at the numerous dinning outlets.
- Are there any Buddhist etiquettes for visitors ?
Please dress modestly and avoid short skirt or low top.
Refrain from touching any ordained monastics, especially monks from the Theravada tradition.
Maintain the serenity within the Main Shrine/Altar Area by speaking softly.
Do not step over any religious texts/books left on floor cushions.
- Can I take photographs?
Buddha images are sacred objects, so do not pose in front of them . Always ask for permission when taking photograph.
- Health and Safety
For the safety of all attendees, we kindly request that you refrain from attending any workshops or programs if you are experiencing any illness, respiratory issues, or symptoms related to COVID-19 (such as fever, coughing, sore throat, fatigue, or shortness of breath).
To protect vulnerable attendees, please consider wearing a mask when you are participating a program. Masks will given out at the venue.
- Respectful Behaviour
KDBM is committed to maintaining a respectful and positive environment for all attendees. Parents /Guardians are responsible for their accompany children under the age of 12 and need to supervision their children at the venue.
Please be aware that any inappropriate or offensive behaviour by attendees will not be tolerated. In such cases, attendees may be asked to leave the venue.
