MID PACE HIKER - Event Leader - Taryn

Our "Mid-Pace Hikers" group strikes the perfect balance between fitness and enjoyment. These hikes are designed for those seeking a challenge without feeling rushed, offering plenty of opportunities to capture photos and appreciate the stunning natural surroundings. They’re ideal for hikers who want to improve their strength and endurance while connecting with like-minded individuals who value the outdoors and the benefits of regular, moderately paced exercise.

Pace: 10-13 minutes per kilometre.

We're thrilled to take you all to the 1000 Steps for the first time!

One of Melbourne’s most well-known bushwalks, the 1000 Steps….officially called the Kokoda Track Memorial Walk is a favourite among fitness enthusiasts, locals, and tourists alike. Many are drawn to its steep challenge, while others come for the convenience or the chance to capture the beauty of the rainforest.

Starting at the Ferntree Gully Picnic Ground, the track winds uphill alongside a creek, weaving through lush rainforest before opening into a clearing with stunning glimpses of Melbourne through the trees.

While the steep, scenic trail is a popular choice for fitness walkers and nature lovers, please note that dogs are not permitted at the 1000 Steps, so be sure to leave your furry friends at home for this one!
