101: How to Sew - Open Session
Description
101: HOW TO SEW, Open Session
Want to learn how to sew but don't know where to start?
Join us for our 101: How to Sew, an open session where we'll meet you where you're at and building your sewing skills up from there.
Bring something you've been wanting to sew and we'll work through it together. Whether it's a project you've been putting off, something you're stuck on, or just a piece of fabric you've been waiting to do something with.
Starting from scratch? No problem. We can make a simple tote bag together so you can get comfortable using a sewing machine and learn the basics as you go.
We'll cover:
How to thread a domestic sewing machine
Bobbins, needles & thread
Straight stitching
Pinning, seams & seam allowances
Basic garment / project construction
Finishing raw edges
This session is designed for beginners and anyone wanting to learn how to sew, or if you're a bit rusty and need some guidance.
You don't need any previous sewing experience. Bring yourself, your project (if you have one), and we'll take it from there.
What to bring:
Your sewing project, if you have one. If not, we'll provide what you need to make the tote bag.
Limited spaces available!
