101 Introduction: Circular Economy meets Nature (ENGLISH)
Event description
Let’s close the loop on precious resources, and discover how Nature does it!
This introductory session will be ideal for newcomers to Circular Economy principles, as well as practitioners looking for fresh perspectives that draw upon a regenerative, ecological mindset.
Embracing international and local experience, we will discuss the differences between our current linear model and the circular economy, learning about the stages and principles that help minimize waste, extend product lifecycles, and keep materials in use. We’ll also create space for you to explore how to apply circular thinking in your work!
Special Guest & Case Studies:
International: Julie Hjort, Vice Director / COO, Danish Design Centre (Copenhagen)
RP: Glen Eira City Council x Boonwurrung Land & Sea Council - Circular Economy Plan, lessons on combining Indigenous and Western knowledge
This workshop aims to foster collaboration, allowing participants to get engaged and focus on practical application. We will discuss real-life case studies to identify where and how change is already taking place, and hear insights from experts in the field.
We need to keep moving forward, towards a more sustainable future and this is a next step.
