    Event description

    10th Australia-Spain Research Forum: Art & People! & Science

This year, inspired by SRAP’s mission to foster collaboration and culture through research and development, we place PEOPLE at the heart of our focus. By engaging artists, scientists, and academics in an open dialogue, we aim to explore socially relevant topics, such as how researchers can best connect with the community and the role of art and science in the vital place of the Humanities in today’s world.

2024 marks 10 years since the association of Spanish Researchers in Australia-Pacific (SRAP) began celebrating connections between Australian and Spanish researchers, artists and the wider community through our Research Forums.

The 10th SRAP Forum, entitled Art & PEOPLE! & Science, will take place at the Australian Museum (Sydney, NSW), the oldest museum in Australia and fifth oldest natural history museum in the world. Housed in a heritage-listed building, for over 190 years, the museum has been at the forefront of Australian scientific research and education, providing a perfect scenario for our Research Forum where the audience is expected to jump into the conversation.

This edition of the SRAP Forum is sponsored by the Spanish Embassy in Australiathe Australia-Spain Council Foundation, the Ramón Areces Foundation Instituto Cervantes Sídney and Indra Australia – to whom we are extremely grateful for their continuous support.

We invite you to join us on Friday 18th of October 2024 at the Australian Museum (1 William St, Sydney) with the option of free attendance virtually or in-person.
