2023 Maybanke Lecture
The Maybanke Fund, a sub-fund of the Sydney Community Foundation, invites you to attend the 10th
Annual Maybanke Lecture.
The Fund honours the work of Maybanke Anderson, writer, leader, feminist, key early childhood education advocate and promoter of the rights of women and children in Australia.
At this year’s lecture, we remember the late Rosalind Maybanke and Tony Strong who established the Maybanke Fund in 2011.
Jane Spring, a great great great niece of Maybanke Anderson, is continuing the work of the Maybanke Fund. As a public sector leader and diversity advocate, Jane is committed to fulfilling Maybanke’s aspirations of creating education opportunities for women and First Nations communities.
The Guest Speaker will be Georgie Dent:
“Universal early childhood education & care is nation-building infrastructure”
Georgie Dent is a writer, author, former lawyer and prominent advocate for women, gender equality, children and families. She is the CEO of The Parenthood, a not-for-profit parent advocacy group representing over 80,000 parents, carers and supporters. The Parenthood campaigns for paid parental leave, universal access to quality early childhood education and care and family friendly workplaces. She is a mum of three and lives in Sydney with her husband and co-partner in chaos.
Please arrive at 5.30pm to allow time to get through security for the lecture commencement at 6
pm.
