Event description

Brendan Eder Ensemble: brendaneder.bandcamp.com

Brendan Eder is a Los Angeles composer and drummer best-known for his eponymous genre-bending ensemble of woodwinds, drum set, and bass.

Eder's third album, THERAPY is a collection of meditative compositions recorded mostly at a church in Southern California. The self-released album charted at #6 on Billboard's Crossover Classical and was featured in The Guardian's "Best Albums of 2023 So Far." Bandcamp describes the music as "brimming with beauty and a soothing ambience."

The ensemble will be performing immersive new works and compositions from THERAPY.

Kennebec: kennebecmusic.org

Kennebec is the creative vessel of composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Eric Phillips, whose work delivers a lush, boundary-pushing symphonic blend of globally inspired American chamber-folk, ambient jazz, neo-soul, new age, and alternative hip-hop.

Following collaborations with artists such as Samuel T. Herring, Sudan Archives, Yazz Ahmed, and Alfa Mist —and working on soundtracks for acclaimed projects like The Holdovers and Barack Obama’s Netflix series Working—Phillips returns with The Water Wheel (out November 7), a conceptually rich third album exploring impermanence, love, and the cycles of time. The record is both a cathartic celebration of life and a soothing balm for turbulent times.
