Continuing warmer weather sees soil temperatures rise, and native plants respond with vividly diverse floral displays that typify this classic ‘spring’ season. This in turn triggers a hive of activity in the insect world, providing perfect food larders for larger animals including goannas, other reptiles and a multitude of nesting songbirds that frantically forage for their growing families.

Join local wildlife ecologist Simon Cherriman to find out what wildlife species are up to during Kambarang season, especially insects, reptiles (including the sand goanna ‘Kaarda’) and songbirds. Learn how to identify different creatures and look for signs of their presence and activities in your backyard or local reserve.

Bookings are essential for this free event. Light refreshments will be available. You are encouraged to bring your own keep cup for tea/coffee or water.
