Event description

This workshop is aimed at helping Stage 6 Investigating Science teachers learn the content in the Year 11 Investigating Science syllabus, understand the background theory and make connections across the different modules. We will be unpacking:

  • Cause and Effect - Observing
  • Cause and Effect - Inferences and Generalisations
  • Scientific Models
  • Theories and Laws
  • Opportunities for Depth Studies

In addition, we will connect the 'assumed knowledge' to the HSC syllabus.

Feedback from Previous Participants

"This is the first main PL I have conducted via zoom. I felt the ability to collaborate didn't lose any impact and it was useful to see all the feedback as instantaneous. It seemed like there has been a lot to digest but it has assisted greatly in how I will go about implementation of the course. Bill was very knowledgeable and the resources shared is an excellent start point for everyone."

NESA Accreditation (we still add your hours to eTAMS for you!)

Completing Theory for Year 11 Investigating Science Teachers will contribute 5 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Delivery and Assessment of NSW Curriculum/EYLF addressing standard descriptor 2.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
