Join kooky, spooky romance author Steff Green (Steffanie Holmes) as she shows you how to create the plan, the tools, and the mindset to rock your writing dreams.

In the morning, Steff will take you on a journey through the current world of publishing, showing you the strategies she uses and teaches to help authors sell more books, turn readers into superfans, and have fun doing it. 

In the afternoon, we’ll take everything we’ve just talked about and apply it to creating your own personal 12-month author strategy. 

This document will guide you over the next twelve months – it covers your writing, research, publishing, and marketing plan. Steff will share with you her own strategy documents and give you tons of examples and guidance to create a document that will guide you on a path to your writing dreams.

We'll define your goals, look at what assets and strengths you already have, assess your biggest hurdles and the areas where you feel overwhelmed or uncertain, and build a plan you can get excited about. You’ll leave this session with a solid plan and buzzing with all the possibilities!

Learning Outcomes

As part of this workshop, you will work to:

• define what success looks like to you.
• discover what makes your writing unique and how you can use that to achieve your dreams.
• use your strengths and your voice to create a strategy that's both fun and easy.
• learn techniques to grow your audience and engage with superfans.
• create a 12-month strategy to set you on a path to achieving your goals.

Format

This is an in-person workshop with a focus on author sustainability; it will be held at State Library of Queensland as part of GenreCon 2025: Alchemy and live streamed to an online audience. This workshop is suitable for writers of all levels and backgrounds.

About Steff

Under her pen name Steffanie Holmes, Steff Green is the USA Today bestselling author of kooky, spooky paranormal, cozy fantasy, and gothic romance. Her books feature clever, witty heroines, secret societies, quirky villages where nothing is as it seems, creepy old mansions, and alpha males who always get what they want.
