Kagyu Monlam is to spread the seeds of loving kindness and pure motivation, to activate their power, and hence bring about genuine peace, love, happiness and well-being in the world.

This prelude to 13th Australia Kagyu Monlam includes:
Daily Chanting of the King of Aspirations Prayers. The King of Aspirations : the Noble Aspiration for Excellent Conduct (also known as the Samantabhadra Prayer), is a celebrated Mahayana Buddhist text. It provides the framework for the Seven Branch Practice, dedicated to accumulating merit, purifying karma, and guiding all beings toward enlightenment.
Sacred Empowerment.
Precious Buddhist relics will be on display, for viewing and veneration.
Share in the Marme Monlam (Lamp Prayer) experience, the symbolic lighting of an aspiration lamp to culminate the prayers for peace and harmony amongst sentients beings.
Participate in a daily Shamatha or ‘Tranquillity’ meditation, under the guidance of our monastic sangha.
Listen to beautiful Buddhist chants and prayers from different schools of Buddhism.
Mindfulness activities for children and their families during 12-2pm each day!

FAQs
- Parking and Entry to Venue
Free parking is available for members and their guests at the venue. Entry is via Mona St, off Greenfield Parade, Bankstown.
Entry to the venue will require a valid NSW photo ID, for international guests, please present your passport at the entrance for admission into the venue.
- What NOT to bring into the event?
To comply with the venue's guidelines and requirements, we ask participants to NOT bring any food or drink inside the venue.
Refreshments and meals are readily available on site at the numerous dinning outlets.
- Are there any Buddhist etiquettes for visitors ?
Please dress modestly and avoid short skirt or low top.
Refrain from touching any ordained monastics, especially monks from the Theravada tradition.
Maintain the serenity within the Main Shrine/Altar Area by speaking softly.
Do not step over any religious texts/books left on floor cushions.
- Can I take photographs?
Buddha images are sacred objects, so do not pose in front of them . Always ask for permission when taking photograph.
- Health and Safety
For the safety of all attendees, we kindly request that you refrain from attending any workshops or programs if you are experiencing any illness, respiratory issues, or symptoms related to COVID-19 (such as fever, coughing, sore throat, fatigue, or shortness of breath).
To protect vulnerable attendees, please consider wearing a mask when you are participating a program. Masks will given out at the venue.
- Respectful Behaviour
KDBM is committed to maintaining a respectful and positive environment for all attendees. Parents /Guardians are responsible for their accompany children under the age of 12 and need to supervision their children at the venue.
Please be aware that any inappropriate or offensive behaviour by attendees will not be tolerated. In such cases, attendees may be asked to leave the venue.
- Care and Responsibility of Children
Parents and Guardians are responsible for all children under their care; and must remain with their children during the entire duration of the program.
