Bystanders in Action: Building Safer, More Respectful Communities
Description
Bystanders in Action: Building Safer, More Respectful Communities
Small actions can make a difference. Learn how to safely speak up and take action.
As part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, commUnity+ invites community members to join a free Bystander Action Training workshop, delivered by Victoria University and funded by Brimbank City Council.
We all have a role to play in creating communities where everyone feels safe, valued and respected. Whether at work, in public spaces or in our everyday interactions, recognising and responding to harmful attitudes, discrimination and disrespectful behaviour can help prevent gender-based violence.
This workshop will explore the important role of bystanders and provide practical strategies to help participants recognise concerning behaviours, overcome barriers to speaking up and take safe, appropriate action.
