16 Days Regional Convening: Southern Metro Region

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is a global annual campaign that galvanises action to prevent and address gender-based violence. Each year, communities across Victoria and around the world come together to stand up for respect, equality, and a future free from violence.

Funded by Respect Victoria, the 16 Days of Activism Grassroots Initiative supports Victorian organisations delivering campaign activities by providing consistent messaging, facilitating connections, and offering resources, guidance, and support.

The 2026 campaign will build on the momentum of previous years and respond to feedback from campaigners about the value of connecting with other organisations undertaking work in their local communities. To launch this year's campaign, we will be hosting 10 online Regional Convenings: one for each of Victoria's nine women's health catchments, as well as one statewide session.

These sessions will provide an opportunity to:

• Learn about updates and priorities for the 2026 campaign

• Connect with organisations working in your local area

• Share experiences, ideas, and learnings

• Begin planning your 2026 campaign activities
