The 16 Days of Activism is the annual global campaign to galvanise action against gender- based violence. Each year across Victoria and around the world, communities mobilise and draw on their own strengths to stand up for respect, and a world free from violence.

Funded by Respect Victoria, the 16 Days of Activism Grassroots Initiative aims to build the capacity of Victorian organisations delivering activities under the campaign, by delivering consistent messaging, facilitating connection, and providing resources and support.

The 2026 campaign will build on the momentum of the last two years, and respond to insights from campaigners around the benefits of connecting with other organisations delivering work locally. As such, to kick off this year’s campaign we will be hosting ten online Regional Convenings, to bring together organisations working in each of the nine women’s health catchments, and one statewide event.

The purpose of these sessions is to share updates on this year’s campaign, and create a space where organisations working locally can meet, share learnings, and begin to plan their 2026 activities.
