1872 Heritage Timber Trail
Event description
The 1872 Heritage Timber Trail, also known as the 1872 Heritage Railway Trail, was created in 1988 for the Australian Bicentennial.
We are offering two walks on the 22nd May 2022
Option 1: A grade 3 walk of approximately 9 kms. Allow 4 hours return with a break
The trail will take you through Jarrah, Marri and Wandoo trees and up a steep hill to enjoy the views across farmland to the coast. Your return takes you along the Gingagup Brook with attractive forest views.
Option 2: Also a grade 3 walk but shorter - approximately 3 kms. Allow 2 hours with a break
You will drive to Jubb Road from Buckland Road and walk along a ridge with attractive Jarrah and Marri forest, plus a few Wandoos. You will enjoy the view across farmland to the coast and return along the Gingagup Brook. This shorter walk misses the steep hill, although there is a short downwards slope and an upward slope to negotiate.
Hiking poles are recommended with loose gravel slopes to negotiate for both walks.
Bring a trail snack and water to enjoy on your break.
