1st XVIII Football Training Weekend
Event description
1st XVIII Football Training Weekend
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The 1st XVIII Football season is fast approaching and as you know the preparation and planning for a successful season starts well before the games are played. It is essential that the ideas and plans from the coaching staff can be learnt and actioned out on game day to ensure the Wesley 1st XVIII team perform to their absolute best every fixture.
You have received this letter as the coaching staff at Wesley College believe your son has the potential to play 1st XVIII Football in 2023. These coaches include Michael Broadbridge, Shane Woewodin, Adam Edwards and Chris Boulay. They are very keen to work with your son over the first week of training (starting Monday 27/Tuesday 28) and the Training camp starting:
- Thursday 30 March (3-30 – 9pm)
- Friday 31 March (3.30-9pm)
- Saturday 1 April (8am – 4pm including a scratch match Vs Trinity 9-11am)
Participation in this camp will ensure athletes are upskilled in line for our Round 2 fixture Vs Hale. Competition for spots in the team will be very high with 43 students being invited to the first training block with the squad being refined to 30 by week 2 (Tuesday 5 April) of training.
The Training Weekend will be a combination of theoretical and practical application to ensure all learning styles are catered for. Please register your son’s attendance and make payment via this …………
Every training session is a chance for the boys to put their best foot forward, get to know other players / coaches and upskill themselves with knowledge that will allow them to perform to their potential.
If there are any further queries, please let me know at Clay.McLernon@wesley.wa.edu.au
I look forward to seeing them all in action on Rossiter Oval from the 28 March.
Kind Regards
Clay McLernon
