2-Day Introduction to Clinical Supervision Training (Orygen)

This is a free event designed for members of the public clinical mental health workforce in Victoria, (staff employed at Area Mental Health & Wellbeing Services, Forensicare or mental health staff from RCH). Please note, if you register for an event and it is not clear if you are part of the intended audience, you will contacted and your registration will be confirmed two weeks prior to the event start date, or earlier.


This training aligns to Capability 13 (Enabling reflective and supportive ways of working) of the Victorian Mental Health & Wellbeing Workforce Capability Framework.

This two-day face-to- face training is for mental health clinicians who provide or are looking to provide clinical supervision. This training is a cross-discipline package and imparts to participants foundations of providing clinical supervision in a mental health context. Attendees will learn and practice basic skills regarding both the components of clinical supervision and holding a supportive, reflective learning space.

This two-day training event is an introduction-level package. If you are someone who is soon to commence or has just commenced providing supervision, or if you’ve been providing clinical supervision but have never attended any formal training on clinical supervision, this may be for you! This introductory package can help inform your practice and will look at:

What 'clinical supervision' in mental health is -

  • The supervisor / supervisee relationship
  • Ethical and legal issues
  • Models of clinical supervision
  • Feedback and Guided reflection
  • Skills, processes and structures

The training will be delivered in-person in the training facilities at Orygen Youth Mental Health, 35 Poplar Road, Parkville (Colonial Innovation Room #1).
