Workshop Series | 🪡 Mend to Extend: Print & Embroider Your Clothes 🧵 | Monday, June 30 & Tuesday, July 1 • Ages 11+

SCRAP Education is excited to offer a unique summer workshop series focused on mending and altering clothing. This workshop is for thrifty creators, ages 11 and up! Youth under 16 should come accompanied by an adult.

This TWO-day summer workshop series will be dedicated to the practices of mending and upcycling our own clothes not only to extend the life of our wearable resources and keep textiles out of the landfill, but also to explore our fashion creativity and personal style!

Monday: Block Printing on Fabric
We'll learn linoleum cutting and make a couple simple stamps to print on a patch or article of clothing. Patching materials provided, but we encourage you to bring articles of clothing or textiles to decorate (or just print over some stains)!

Tuesday: Embroidering & Patching
We'll learn a handful of foundational embroidery stitches, and practice them by decorating an article of clothing or a textile. Patching materials provided, but we encourage you to bring articles of clothing or textiles to decorate and patch up.

This workshop series is for people who care about the environment, who want to expand their sewing skills, and who find comfort in a crafty community! ✨

Each day will have an early afternoon and a late afternoon session (same content in each session)! Choose which best fits your schedule!
