Youth 3-Day Summer Workshop | 🪡 Mend to Extend: Fix & Upcycle Your Clothes 🧵 | Monday, Aug. 11 - Wednesday, Aug. 13 • Ages 11-18

SCRAP Education is excited to offer a unique summer session focused on mending and altering clothing. This camp is for thrifty middle and high schoolers, ages 11-18!

This THREE-day summer session will be dedicated to the practices of mending, upcycling, and making our own clothes, not only to extend the life of our wearable resources and keep textiles out of the landfill, but also to explore our fashion creativity and personal style! Participants will practice mending techniques including patching and darning, make simple sewing projects from scraps, and learn about upcycling techniques including custom printing, decorative embroidery, and accessorizing with grommets, ribbons, and more.

This workshop series is for young people who care about the environment, who want to expand their sewing skills, and who find comfort in a crafty community! ✨

This workshop is supported by funds from the Oregon Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Every day's schedule:
Drop off: 10:45-11am (Programming begins at 11am)
Lunch: 12:30-1pm
Pick up: 3-3:15pm (Programming ends at 3pm)

Cancelation & refund policy:
90% refund until three weeks before your workshop start date, 50% refund until two weeks before your workshop start date. No refunds for cancellations less than 14 days.
