Event description

The time has come again to celebrate global solidarity by joining Union Aid Abroad - APHEDA at this year's Melbourne dinner.

As this year marks the twentieth anniversary of Timor Leste’s independence, Union Aid Abroad will celebrate the decades of solidarity between the Timorese and Australian people.

We are very excited to announce that ACTU Secretary Sally McManus will be our guest speaker this year.

Sally has recently returned from a visit to Timor Leste, where she was invited to attend the official celebrations of the twentieth anniversary of Timorese independence.

Mana Else (Uka) Pinto from Union Aid Abroad partner Kdadalak Sulimutuk Institute (KSI) in Timor Leste will also speak about the current organising work of thousands of farmers across the country towards a sustainable agricultural sector and land reform.

At the dinner you'll have the opportunity to hear from amazing guest speakers, bid on amazing auction items, and win great prizes, all in the name of solidarity.
