Event description

Online sales have concluded.  Onsite sales only on Friday 2 April from 10am.

We are back! Hop to it and bring the family along to the RHH Research Foundation and Salamanca Fresh Easter Egg Hunt & Family Picnic at the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens on 2 April. Once again, there will be plenty of Cadbury chocolate to hunt down, but this time with a Covid-safe twist!

Our activities will include a fresh approach to the Easter Egg Hunt, offering a chance for children from 3 to 14 years old to solve clues (with some help from the family always welcome) to find egg-stra special bags filled with plenty of Cadbury Easter Eggs located in the beautiful Botanical Gardens.

There will be a hunt for 3-5 year olds, 6-8 year olds, 9–11 year olds and 12-14 year olds. Each hunt will take up to around thirty minutes for the family to enjoy, giving plenty of time for you to arrive when the fun begins at 10.00am and when the final egg hunt clue sheets are passed around at 1.30pm. While the Gardens will remain open to the general public all day, our egg-gathering will conclude at 2.00pm.

That’s right, after the egg-citement begins at 10.00am, unlike previous years, you don’t have to arrive at any particular time, just make sure you meet us at Egg Hunt HQ (just beside the Visitor’s Centre) before 1.30pm and conclude your hunting by 2.00pm.

As always, we will have entertainment for the kids plus Covid-safe activities and a special appearance from our guest of honour - The Easter Bunny!

Bring along a picnic and enjoy the day - or bring a rug and enjoy some treats including Salamanca Fresh snack boxes and all the fine fare from the Botanical Gardens kiosk. And you might be egg-static to know there will also be an egg-stra coffee cart on site too. A day of fun for the whole family!

All proceeds will be invested into local medical research that really makes a difference to the health and wellbeing of Tasmanians right across our state.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS -

To reduce congestion and assist social distancing on the day, please PRINT AND COMPLETE the Ts&Cs form and BRING THIS WITH YOU TO THE EVENT.

PARKING

There is plenty of parking at the Regatta Grounds (but not on the actual grass).  All gates to the Gardens will be open, so some families might choose park and to walk along the bike track from the New Town end.  There’s also the TCA car park too.  Even though meters won’t be operating as it’s a public holiday/free, there are areas signed as no stopping or with yellow lines.  We really don’t want you to receive a parking fine for Easter!!

IT’S A PICNIC

So you can bring a packed lunch or grab a bite to eat at the Gardens.  There are food options available and of course coffee and wayyyy too much chocolate !

COVID-SAFE EVENT TWIST

With plenty of hand sanitiser ready there are no set times for age-group hunts to avoid large groups.  It's treasure hunt style with clue sheets.  You can arrive between 10am and 1.30pm.  The activities take approximately 30 minutes.
