    Event description

    The 2023 Apollo Projects New Zealand Age Group Swimming Championships will see the best age group swimmers from around the country converge on the Hawke's Bay Regional Aquatic Centre to battle it out for the title of Age Group national champion.  In addition, this event is also a qualifier for the World Junior Championships and Youth Commonwealth Games. The event is hosted across 5 days consisting of 10 sessions in total:

    Session 1 - Wednesday 12 April - 9am Start (Heats)

    Session 2 -Wednesday 12 April - 5.30pm Start (Finals)

    Session 3 - Thursday 13 April - 9am Start (Heats)

    Session 4 - Thursday 13 April - 5.30pm Start (Finals)

    Session 5 - Friday 14 April - 9am Start (Heats)

    Session 6 - Friday 14 April - 5.30pm Start (Finals)

    Session 7 - Saturday 15 April - 9am Start (Heats)

    Session 8 - Saturday 15 April - 5.30pm Start (Finals)

    Session 9 - Sunday 16 April- 9am Start (Heats)

    Session 10 - Sunday 16 April - 5.30pm Start (Finals)

    Parent Breakfast Tickets

    We are offering a limited number of free tickets during warm-up for parents to mingle and learn about outlined topics within swimming below. This is a great opportunity to increase your knowledge and be involved in a Q&A discussion on the topic, whilst the swimmers are completing their warm-up for the heats session.

    Day 2 - Thursday 13 April - 7.45am - 8.45am - Creating Positive Swimming Experiences

    Day 3 - Friday 14 April - 7.45am - 8.45am - Identity & Wellbeing for Swimmers

    Day 4 - Saturday 15 April - 7.45am - 8.45am - Long Term Athlete Development

    Day 5 - Sunday 16 April - 7.45am - 8.45am - Performance Pathways

    Tickets for heats and finals sessions and Parent Breakfasts will be available from 9am Saturday 1st April 2023. 

    All sessions of this event will also be livestreamed live and free on the Whakaata Maori YouTube channel.
