2023 Salesian College Athletics Carnival

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

The College’s annual House Athletics Carnival will be at Bill Sewart Athletics Centre, Nunawading. The event promises to be one of the highlights of the year for the boys.  The Bill Sewart Athletics Centre is a recently refurbished, high-class athletics facility and the boys will be able to compete in a spirit of fun and competition within the College’s House System.

Transport Arrangements

Please note that all boys must come to the College on the morning of the Carnival and arrive at school by 8.40am. Boys should attend their first period classes for roll call as usual.

Boys will be transported by bus directly to and from the venue usually returning between 2.30 and 2.50pm.  As we will return before the normal finishing time, there will be no dismissal from the track.

Please note that the boys will be dismissed as soon as they arrive back at the college on the buses.

Charter bus boys will depart from the College at the end of the day at the usual time.

Additional Points

  • Attendance is compulsory (parents of boys who are ill on the day must ring the College on 9831 9550 before 8.15 am please)
  • A medical certificate will be required for all absent students on the day they return to school
  • Students will be transported to and from the venue. No early dismissals will be permitted without prior notification from parents/guardians
  • Boys are advised not to bring valuable items or large amounts of money to the carnival. A small sum of money for the social justice canteen should be all the money required
  • Boys are to wear their full Salesian College sports uniform to school. They may change into coloured clothing in their House colours once at school
  • Boys are to bring their own packed lunch together with a water bottle, (only a limited canteen service of snacks will be available)
  • Boys must bring sunscreen and hats
  • The College’s normal expectations regarding student behaviour and use of mobile phones as outlined in the Code of Behaviour will apply as usual.

As in previous years, the Carnival should be a wonderful day for the College. Parents, guardians and other family members are warmly invited to attend our Carnival to support the boys and enjoy the day – please come along if you can. You may like to bring a chair. We have designated an area of the pavilion for family supporters.

In keeping with our child safety policy, we are required to register all members of the community who attend our premises.

Bring along with you the electronic ticket or paper ticket so that we can scan you in at the event. Please note that we will commence scanning these tickets from 9.45am on the day of the event.

Any urgent matters which require parents to contact boys on the day of the carnival should be directed to the College office on the normal number, 9807 2644.

Please do not hesitate to contact myself or your son’s Year Level Co-ordinator if there are any specific issues concerning the Carnival that you wish to discuss.

Best wishes,

Mr. Richard Bourbon
