Cancelled: 2023 Auckland Climate Festival Closing Celebration
Event description
**Event Update: A change of plans for the ACF Closing Ceremony**
While the wider festival has seen great uptake with over 150 events across the month and many of these reaching capacity, ticket sales to the ACF Closing Celebration have been slower than expected.
With this in mind we've made the decision to put aside our original plans for the Closing Ceremony, and instead we are encouraging our event hosts, partners and friends to join us at the final events on the programme on the last day of the festival.
The ACF team and our iwi host partners Ngaati Te Ata Waiohua will be attending the live recording of This Climate Business podcast on Friday 29th September with Minister James Shaw, and will say a few words at the conclusion of the event. We'll then be joining Bike Auckland's Bikes and Beers event at Brothers Brewery in Mt Eden from 6:00pm for an informal get-together, no RSVP necessary.
We hope you can join us at one or both of these events, which are free to attend.

Join us on Friday, 29th September for the grand finale of the Auckland Climate Festival.
Following an incredible month of events, initiatives, activations, offerings and gatherings, we’re coming together to close the festival for another year and to set our sights on the year ahead.
Alongside dinner by Everybody Eats and a complimentary drink on arrival, the evening features comedian Tim Batt of 'Is Climate Change Funny Yet?' fame, a keynote from Climate Change Minister Hon. James Shaw, music from award winning Huia and festival-favourite Rei, poetry by Zech Soakai, talks by bronze medalist Eliza McCartney and Live Ocean, Event Host Awards celebrating the events that have happened across the month, drinks, nibbles and banter. At the conclusion of the night Iwi Hosts Ngaati te Ata Waiohua will officially close the festival.
The closing celebration is a chance to raise a glass to positive action and to share experiences, ideas and laughter with the climate community. Be a part of this unforgettable evening celebrating our collective determination to create a more resilient and equitable future for generations to come. The journey doesn’t end here.
Tickets include dinner and a complimentary drink on arrival, and range in price from $95 for individuals and non-profits to $150 for organisations. To keep the celebration as accessible as possible we also have a limited number of 'Pay as You Are Able' tickets. We're also offering discounts for group bookings of 4, 6 or 8 tickets - perfect for a team event, or celebrating those climate stars within your organisation.
Please consider your transport for the event, we encourage you to use public transport or carpool - the venue is less than a 10 minute walk from Britomart Train Station, and a number of bus stops are nearby. Bike parking will also be available at the venue thanks to Bike Auckland.
The Auckland Climate Festival is brought to you in partnership with our 2023 Iwi Host Ngaati te Ata Waiohua, and the closing ceremony is supported by B-Corp certified Sawmill Brewery.
