Clinical Leadership Forum - Clinicians Caring for the Climate
Event description
Take this opportunity to meet other med students from across the motu at the Clinical Leadership Forum. Our event kaupapa is clinicians caring for the climate hosted in Ōtepoti this year. On July 28-30 sixty students will be welcomed to Arai Te Uru Marae and the University of Otago Hunter Centre where the activities will include:
- Volunteering to actively protect the local whenua
- Hearing from OraTaiao leaders Dr Dermot Coffey & Summer Wright
- Workshopping environmental policy with Prof Simon Hales
- Media training workshop with Andrew Patterson
- Emergency communication training with Tori Prendergast
- Plus workshops on other essential topics like psychiatry, karakia (with Nic Sinnott), and Pacific Health.
Spaces are limited to 30 from UoO and 30 from UoA. Non-local and local tickets will be sold on a first-come first-served basis
- Non-local tickets for UoA and UoO students cost $100. Includes the activities above, warm kai, transport, Noho Marae* (bring sleeping bags), and limited merchandise.
- Local tickets (UoO Dunedin only) cost $50. Includes the activities above, warm kai, and limited merchandise.
*if this is your first Noho Marae, don't be shy! It will mean communal sleeping in the wharenui of Arai Te Uru Marae with your own sleeping bag, pillows/mattresses provided.
