2023 EMERGING ARTISTS SERIES | RECITAL WITH CHARLES COOP (PIANO)

We are delighted to welcome Charles Coop as part of the 2023 Lewis Eady Emerging Artists Series. 

Charles is an outstanding young French pianist with close family links to New Zealand and New Zealand nationality. He started studying piano at the age of six under the guidance of Françoise Lepape, then with Michel Wiggers at the Uccle Music Academy. At the age of 15 Charles was admitted to the class of Aleksandar Madzar at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. He was awarded the 2nd prize at the Liège Piano Competition in 2018, and the 2nd prize at the Forte International Competition in Brussels in 2022.  

For this Emerging Artists concert, Charles will present a substantial programme, with Beethoven's Hammerklavier Sonata alongside Schubert's Sonata No. 19 in C minor.
