Identification, Assessment and Intervention of Dyspraxia
Event description
Description
Dyspraxia is an important building block to academic, athletic, and social-emotional proficiency. This 3-day live in-person workshop will include the theory of different sub-categories of Dyspraxia and explain the background in the nervous system. Multiple techniques and interventions (top down and bottom up) will be shared to plan intervention on the third day. The second day will cover in-depth information on assessment and clinical observations following the three-phase system of the Developmental Pathways Model (DPM). Therapy ideas are discussed throughout the workshop and with special emphasis on the third day. This is a workshop not to be missed for anyone working in the field of pediatrics, schools, and early learning. Discover how Dyspraxia influences learning, attention and executive functioning across the different ages and stages of development and into adulthood. This definitive workshop will discuss key elements of information and strategies that truly can be changed due to the researched fact of neuroplasticity. It is a must-have workshop for the discerning therapist.

Reviews:
Thank you, I learned a lot and it clarified a lot of things for me. Found my assessment I used to do was worlds apart from 6 months ago. Worlds apart!

This is a wonderful course to take if you are a therapist with and without experience on dyspraxia. It provides an in-depth understanding of dyspraxia, the various profiles of dyspraxia as well its effect on development and function.
Melissa DeFruscia, Canada
It was a great pleasure to gain the knowledge and attitude of our lecturer Maude Le Roux. Participating in the course gave me a general view of Dyspraxia and a holistic view to speech and language disorders as well as learning difficulties. I work in a day centre with children who have ASD and other developmental disorders, communication, and praxis difficulties. I also work at school with children who experience learning difficulties. Sometimes I feel that the deeper reasons should be considered to help the children and the essence of the problem is not revealed. During this workshop I experienced several very important points of view, which encouraged me to dig deeper when evaluating the situation of the person and providing professional help for him or her.

Thank you for this very informative course! I have gained so much from this course and will go back, rethink and adjust what I am doing. Thank you, Maude, for sharing your immense knowledge and experiences. At times I felt overwhelmed, there was a lot of information and all so very interesting - I wanted to take it all in. 😊 I am inspired and excited again to see what a difference I can make as an OT to the children and their families. I can’t wait to attend your next course! THANK YOU!!
