Comrades, the Union Aid Aboard-APHEDA Melbourne Dinner is back after a hiatus in a new but familiar home and the same old fiery passion for global solidarity and justice.
Tuesday, June 27 at the centre of the Australian union universe - the Victorian Trades Hall. Tickets are limited so get in early to avoid disappointment. Â
Keynote speaker - Professor Michele Ford
Serving as the Director of the Sydney Southeast Asia Centre, Professor Michele Ford's research focuses on Southeast Asian labour movements and the vital intersection between national and international trade unions.
Speaker - Chan Thiri Soe
As a senior journalist with the Democratic Voice of Burma, Chan Thiri Soe has tirelessly worked to shed light on the struggles of workers in Myanmar.
Master of Ceremonies - Wil Stracke
Trades Hall Assistant Secretary Wil Stracke will keep proceedings on track with a wealth of knowledge, a passion for advocating for the rights of workers and touch of TikTok star power.
Tickets include a wonderful meal by Shamiat Syrian Restaurant with drinks, served by the fabulous Fringe Common Rooms, at bar prices.Â
Please note, food is served buffet style and mostly prepared off site. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options will be plentiful and available to everyone. While we are able to cater for some common sever dietary restrictions, others may unfortunately not be possible. If you have questions please ask.
