2024 Annual Easter Refresh Civic Leaders' Breakfast

Each Easter the Refresh convention has also hosted a civic leaders' breakfast (or dinner) event. Guests come from the various sectors that shape our broader and diverse community of greater Launceston. This has included leaders from: local, state, and federal governments; business and commerce; education and schooling; and, churches and charities. Each year, inspirational speakers from around Australia or the world, have addressed those who have attended this civic leaders' event. Speakers have included: former Deputy Prime Minister, John Anderson AO; Dr. Mike Berry (Annapolis, USA); former QLD independent MP, Chris Foley; Biochemist, Dr. Fazale Rana (USA); Winkie Pratney (New Zealand); Astrophysicist, Dr. Hugh Ross (USA); Author, Dr. Stuart Robinson (QLD); Astronomer, Dr. Jeff Zweerink (USA); and, A/Prof. Stuart Piggin (Macquarie University, NSW). This year's speaker is Luke Connaughton from Sports Chaplaincy Australia. Luke helps elite sportsmen and sportswomen to navigate life beyond the public stage. He also facilitates and oversees the training of a team of hundreds of volunteer grassroots sports chaplains. This year will also feature an appearance by Karl Faase from Olivetree Media.
