2024 Charlton's Fishing Springfield Lakes Pest Fishing Competition
Event description
Dust off your rods - the Charlton's Fishing Springfield Lakes Pest Fishing Competition returns on Sunday 15th December 2024.Â
Come along and help reduce pest fish numbers in Spring Lake, with your chance to win great prizes!
This event has been organised by Brisbane Valley Anglers Fishstocking Association (BVAFA). 2 Bent Rods will be leading the event management on BVAFA’s behalf.
The event is supported by Lendlease, Ipswich City Council, Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, Biosecurity and Freshwater Fish Stocking Association of Qld.
It will be strictly managed under a Biosecurity Queensland pest fishing permit through fishing event management group 2 Bent Rods, to create awareness of noxious fish species and their impact on the local biodiversity.
There will be education sessions provided on the pest species during registration for the event, as well as trained helpers to assist you to correctly dispose of catches in the dedicated waste bins provided.

Anglers fishing the competition are required to bring a bucket to take any native fish to be tagged to the nearest tagging station. Â
You must be present for prize draws and lucky door prize.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Fishing is only permitted on regulated fishing education days.Â
Fishing is NOT permitted at any other time.Â
This is a drug & alcohol free event, no glass permitted on site.
Refunds are available up to 7 days before the event and will be the ticket cost less Humanitix booking fee.
