2024 Festival Address
Event description
Join us to celebrate wildflower season at the 2024 Festival Address delivered by Mel Logozzo of Rewilding Suburbia.Â
Rewilding Suburbia
Join Mel Logozzo from Rewilding Suburbia for a talk about backyard biodiversity, with a focus on the invertebrates you can see and support in your own garden at home. Mel will share her own personal journey in transforming her garden from pavers to a rewilded paradise.
Mel believes that conservation efforts should start in our own backyards - Home gardens play a vital role in supporting local biodiversity by providing habitat and other resources for invertebrates, reptiles, birds and other wildlife, which is essential for ecosystem health and resilience. Our gardens are bursting with life and crawling with extraordinary worlds that are often overlooked, under appreciated or unseen. Mel helps others discover these worlds in their own backyards.
Mel is a self taught home gardener, who grows Australian natives and spray free food, as well as an artist and phone photographer turned accidental educator on a mission to change the way people see and use their gardens. Mel co-hosts the Unbeeleafable Podcast and judged the Sustainable Gardener Award in the Grow It Local Awards this year.
