    Event description

We are pleased to invite you to the grand finale of 2024’s historic motor racing season – the HSRCA’s 2024 Summer Festival, which will feature events for all historic categories plus Modern Regularity (up to 2010) and super sprint competitions. This historic race meeting will be held at Sydney Motorsport Park over the weekend of November 30 and December 1.

Our very special guest on this weekend will be Kevin Bartlett, who is generously joining us from his home in Queensland. Kevin was a champion in many disciplines in the golden era of motor racing, winning the Gold Star in the Australian Drivers’ Championship back to back in 1968 and ‘69, as well as the 1974 Bathurst 1000 with co-driver John Goss, and the 1969 Macau Grand Prix. Racing touring cars over two decades, he was also the first person to set a 100 mile an hour lap at Bathurst, among many other achievements.

Joining our celebration of Kevin Bartlett, we look forward to the Group S enduro, a feature for Formula Ford, and of course events for all historic classes (subject to minimum entries).

The historic motorsport scene is alive and kicking today, offering value for money motorsport to competitors and edge-of-your-seat racing excitement for spectators to enjoy. There’s action at every corner, lots of overtaking and a wide variety of cars, each with their own sounds and handling characteristics. It’s raw, noisy, fast and thrilling, which is how motorsport should be, and the reason why historics are one of the fastest growing sectors in motor racing.

Its best quality, however, is its friendly, relaxed and open community. Spectators are free to explore the pits and paddock, meet the drivers and teams, and get up close to the cars. Come along and immerse yourself in the golden age of motorsport for a few hours, and perhaps make a few new friends along the way.
