    Event description

Join us for A Night on the Farm!

A Night on the Farm is our signature fundraiser event series to support our educational programming for youth and adults as well as our pay-what-you-can Farm Market.

    Highlighting Ethiopian Cuisine

Indulge in a culinary journey where each dish is a celebration of tradition, flavor, and community. From fragrant spices to hearty stews and injera, our menu promises to delight your senses and leave you satiated.

This evening is about more than great food, it's about coming together as a community to support our shared vision of sustainability, food justice, and cultural exchange. Your attendance and generosity will help us continue our mission to sustain and support a more equitable community through growing, learning, cooking, and sharing fresh food together.

    About the chef:

    Galila Daniel

A chef and food justice advocate specializing in the utilization of hydroponic farming systems and wellness access, Daniel completed a 2020 WWOOF (Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms) x Chef Dan Barber’s Stone Barns Center Harvest Corp Fellowship upon graduating from the Institute of Culinary Education. Prior to her days within the culinary industry, preforming duties as a cook and chef de cuisine at New York based restaurants, she spent a length of time across eastern Asia researching culinary and wellness traditions, fostering a specialty in elevated cuisine with bold flavors and bright colors influenced by her East African heritage, hometown of DC, and travels throughout indigenous communities of the world. She continues working to promote accessibility to sustainable wellness resources and products to encourage power and healing amongst marginalized groups. As a proud Howard University alum, Daniel also continually strives to include her alma mater and surrounding communities in her wellness oriented goals. She is also the Vice Chair of Common Good City Farm's Board of Directors, and has served on the Board for 3 years.
